Traveling while pregnant?

Before I got pregnant my family and I had planned to visit some family out of state this summer. It's just a weekend trip, but it'll be a 12 hour drive one way and I will be 28 weeks at the time (schedules won't allow us to go any sooner) Any advice for the trip? And is it safe to travel at 28 weeks? I'm not high risk.

Totally safe! I was second trimester when I traveled from Texas to Japan. I know you said you’re driving so just be sure to take frequent walks at stops, stay hydrated, and try to keep healthy snacks in the car. Body and baby will thank you in the end.

I’m doing it at the same timing.  As others said, stay hydrated and stretch often.  Make sure you’re aware of the local hospital and how your insurance works with them and purchase additional insurance for the trip if necessary.

My OB told me travel was okay as long as the destination was somewhere I could gets a hospital fairly easily in case of an emergency.

It’s safe, just stay hydrated and make sure to get out and walk and stretch when y’all stop.
