Burning sensation after a tear?

Im not sure what degree the tear is but I’m 8 days post delivery and my whole perineum area burns, especially on the left side. I haven’t noticed a smell or anything but nothing really seems to help the pulling/burning feeling. Does that sound like and infection or normal? I’m not resting as much as I should either .

Try sitz baths and using a peri bottle when you pee. It’s probably just some soreness as the stitches have probably dissolved. Make sure you’re drinking lots of water and eating protein.

I burned for about 2 weeks with a grade 3 tear

It's normal, is it when you pee?  Try witch hazel spray no alcohol and also padsicles Google it x

If your doctor or midwife approved baths for you, sitz baths were a lifesaver for me with a third degree tear.   Not fun at all but soon to be a distant memory!

I understand your pain. I found that the icepacks from the hospital really helped. They are like a super long pad you place in your underwear. Also a numbing spray helps. I hope you heal quickly and are feeling better soon. It took me about 4 weeks to get comfortable again.
