I’ve just taken the dummy away from my 6mnth old because he kept needing it replaced in the night and isn’t yet able to put it back in (still swaddled). It was causing us sleep deprivation so I thought it’s time to go.

However... now I’ve noticed he has suddenly begun thumb sucking randomly throughout the day, even while eating (he tries to eat and have his thumb in his mouth at the same time 🤦‍♀️).

He has never sucked his thumb before this, not even while in the womb (we had pretty much weekly ultrasounds in the final trimester)

I feel like maybe I should give the dummy back because at least he only sucked it during sleep times, unlike his thumb which you can’t take away and he sucks constantly throughout the day. What you all think??? So torn about what to do 🤷‍♀️
