What’s life like in Dallas Texas ?

My husband wants to move us there with two small kiddos but I’m from up north and don’t know much about it. 
We’re a biracial couple. I’m black he’s white. I’m nervous to go south for this reason. 
The town specifically would be Carrollton. Can anyone shed insight ?

Carrollton is a great area! The DFW is more affordable compared to many other places in the country. I feel like people are generally friendly. As a white woman, with a white husband, I can’t say I have a lot of insight into how it is for people in interracial relationships. However, the only racism I have witnessed comes from old white people and it has never been treated as okay. I live closer to Fort Worth and I work with and have friends from all races and cultures. Dallas is even more diverse and open minded because it is more city life.

DFW is great! 
Great food, lots of things to do, and people are really nice (southern hospitality!) 
Downside is that there is a LOT of traffic wherever you go. 🚗

We love living here!! Texas has always been my home and I'll never leave.  As far as the biracial relationship you will be fine. We arent a bunch of intolerant honkeys down here. Its 2019.

I am white and my husband is black, and we just moved to San Antonio. The only weird thing that happend was a neighbor who has never seen me before said hello then saw me walking into my apartment and said who all lives there? I said my family.. and he gave me the weirdest look then said “arnt they black?!” I just said yes and went inside. That was the only time other than some looks here and there when we are in public. People here in general are super nice and I love it 😌 I’ve just learned to ignore it🤷🏼‍♀️ don’t let it be a reason not to move, and good luck!😊

Born and raised in dallas! I have lived here all 27 years of my life besides college. GREAT place for raising children, great schools, great weather (although it changes drastically every day in the spring, fall, and winter). Go for it!! There are so many places to shop or take kids out places. It’s probably the most updated city in all of Texas in my opinion, but I’m biased
