Breastfeeding getting too much

Elizbeth

Hello all!

I have a 16 month old that’s been exclusively breastfed. He is too attached to me that when I try to wean him off it is always a fail that I just give in and breastfeed him again. I need to stop breastfeeding since I am a student and going to start working and it is just time now. He mostly just breastfeeds when he takes naps and at nighttime, I think only mostly for comfort. He will be going to his aunts this weekend and so when I get him back after I want to not breastfeed no more. Is it bad if I just stop all together? At night to comfort him do I give him regular cow milk, formula, pacifier, or just let him cry it out and smooth himself (he is a thumb sucker) ? I am a FTM so I am new to all this. I am discourage and feel if I don’t stop now I never will! Lol. Help please, anything helps.

Also how long does it usually take for milk to dry out all together? And I heard it hurts bc of milk buildup!
