How can I deodorize a freezer?

I bought a freezer from someone and smells funky. I tried setting some bowls of baking soda in it over night and then sprayed/wiped it down with vinegar. It still smells the same.

Bowl of charcoal. It worked for me when I had everything REEK of rotten shrimp. It was so bad. Anything you touched in the fridge would leave your hands smelling fishy and disgusting. Bowl of charcoal worked overnight. Now I never take it out of my fridge. Stick it in the back where the fans are.
