What is happening????

So I really need some advice. I'm going on day nine of my period. It's weird because before I had my baby they were all ways five days long. I'm 7 months post partum and my period has been getting longer. It was 8 days last month and I can tell it was ending then because I could see the old blood. All week it has been dark red until today now it is bright red. I am baffled and will probably be looking for an OGBYN but the appointment will be a couple days out and could use some advice.
