Crib mattress and car seat reccomendations?

How the hell are you supposed to decide what to get for your baby? I feel like these are two of the most important things you buy for baby but there is soooo many to choose from.

Love Chicco, a little pricey but the infant car seat was super easy to use and sturdier than some other brands I saw.

Bought the mattress at ikea with the crib. As for the car seat we went with what won most safety tests the latest years (in Scandinavia they have to post test results, and have stricter guidelines and requirements for the seats, like the leg on the base)

I was in a pretty bad car wreck when my son was a baby. We used the chicco infant carseat, and he didn't have a scratch on him! I am pretty loyal to the chicco carseats now. 😀 As far as crib mattress, I just bought one from Walmart, and it has held up and worked just fine!

Mattress: Colgate Eco Classica III organic dual firmness mattress. It’s sooo comfortable and my son has been sleeping 13-14 hours per night on it since before 3 months, shortly after transitioning him into his crib. It’s foam so it’s lightweight for easy sheet changes, and it’s organic and Greenguard Gold Certified for safety.
For a car seat there are a lot of options so I recommend going to a store to feel them all for yourself. My favorite brands (for both infant seats and convertible car seats) are Nuna, Uppababy, Maxi Cosi, Cybex, Clek, Peg Perego, and Britax. For a cheaper brand you can also look at Graco. My parents have the Graco Extend2fit and it’s fantastic. We have the Nuna Pipa and Nuna Rava and love them both.

I picked the comfiest decently priced mattress I could find. I think it’s the Sealy brand. 
As for car seats, I got a nuna pipa lite lx because it’s the lightest on the market, and it also clicks right into my nuna mixx 2 stroller. But I’ve heard Graco and Chicco are really good brands.

I’ve been reading about organic crib mattresses, and apparently they’re the way to go 🙌🏼
I really love the Nuna Pipa (lite or lite lx) car seat! It’s definitely pricey, but it’s a wonderful material, has a “dream shade” built in and it only weighs around 5-7 pounds. 😁

I asked various mom friends what they liked, and kept those thoughts in mind when we went to look at/ test drive strollers. We had a budget and within that. Ended up with an uppababy cruz, and the Mesa seat that is designed to go with it. Our baby isn't here yet, but the cat loves riding around in the basket in the house 🤷🏼‍♀️ my requirement for mattress was safe and organic, so again, we asked around. I forget off the top of my head what we got.

I love the graco 4ever however if you dont wanna baby wear every outing the Garcon snug ride is nice
