PLEASE READ! Anyone had this?!

I’ve been having this feeling of something in my throat. It’s almost always there. I can’t tell if it’s coming from the very back of my mouth/ throat or down further in my neck. It started several months ago. Feels maybe like a lump? Doctor wants to give me a sedated scope. My question is, has anyone else had this? I’m a moderate/ heavy smoker. I smoke 3-4 bowls a day and end up coughing a good bit sometimes. Sometimes it almost feels like a hairball in the. Back of my mouth but other times it’s like my neck feels like it’s being squeezed. I’m 30 and only been smoking for almost a year now. Never was a smoker before. Except very occasionally. thanks for reading. Any insight helps!
