I’ve thought a lot about this, and i feel ready to have sex with someone i really like and trust. Is there anything wrong with that?

I lost my virginity at 15 and I have never regretted it. I was completely ready. Everyone is different and only you can make that decision for yourself.

The only thing that’s important is that you’re safe and comfortable and responsible. If you’re comfortable with the person, you use *condoms* every single time you have sex (whether you are on birth control or not), you get tested for STIs on a regular basis like once per year or more often if you have symptoms or multiple partners, and you have a plan in place should an accident happen, such as access to a plan b, or if you end up pregnant or with an STI you have a plan to deal with it, then when you decide to have sex is up to you.
If you cannot be responsible or if you are not ready or comfortable, then don’t have sex. That’s true regardless of age.

I had sex for the first time at 15, so I won’t preach too much here..but from experience I will say that children/teens should not take part in being sexually active unless they are ready for the consequences that can occur.. The very real and very adult consequences. I learned that the hard way—I got pregnant at 17 even though I was on birth control. I love my oldest son but life was hard for several years after he was born—I often think about how things might have been different if I would have waited until I was at a better stage in my life. I wish I would have waited personally.

You are the boss of your own body. Do some research and make an informed decision. It’s a big deal emotionally and physically. You need to fully understand consent, the physical aspects, STI and pregnancy prevention, as well as all the big big emotions and attachments that can go along with it. If you have a parent or an adult who you are comfortable talking to who will be honest with you, you should reach out. 
Your urges are normal and age appropriate and a normal part of puberty. There are also ways other than sex that you can feel the type of pleasure you are craving with out fear of pregnancy or diseases with or with out a partner. It’s ok and normal and healthy to feel this way and explore and get to know your own body.
