How to talk to my mom?

So me and my boyfriend started talking about having sex soon, and I want my mom to put me on birth control but idk how to talk to her about it..I’ve tryed to bring it up to her before multiple times but she just keeps saying that I should be with the guy for at least a year and how she Doesn’t want me to.. Any advice on how to talk to her about it? I need birth control to have sex with my boyfriend, to me it’s really important to be extra safe..

Just calmly say mom I realize that we have different opinions about when it’s appropriate to start having sex but I’m being open with you and asking you to help me stay protected so can you please help me get birth control so I can be safe. Ps. If she really won’t let you have it you can go to planned parenthood and get it on your own without her consent and you can pay out of pocket so it doesn’t show up on her insurance :)

I’ve been in the same position 🙄 mothers eh, just sit her down and say “look I’m not going to be having sex ASAP but if it happens I’d like to be extra safe just incase it does happen, so I think birth control would be the best option” if she doesn’t agree don’t lose your shit, just remain calm and talk to her a few days later, but don’t badger her about it but show her you’re an adult capable of making adult decisions ❤️

Either just be honest with her, or tell her it’s for your periods, to help regulate your period and control your symptoms. When I was 15, I told my mom I wanted it for my period, to regulate.
My pediatrician put me on it. I just went in alone, they didn’t have to ask my parents about it.

Personally my mom wanted me to go on even before I was having sex but I refused because I was scared, fast forward I’m in a new relationship my boyfriend and i we’re really open and discussed how we wanted to wait for awhile like absolutely no rush and when we’re ready we’ll both communicate that. I told my mom I wasn’t having sex my boyfriend and I are deciding to wait but I want to be prepared and save for when we are ready and she understood that.
