My almost 17 month old daughter has been doing this for the last 4-5 months probably. Whenever we play together and it gets quiet for 2 mins, even though she sees me or her father right next to her, the moment we speak or make a sound she startles so bad, comes running to us, screaming and visibly scared. She talks quite a lot so she even says: scared, scared! Don’t know why? We never leave her alone during the day, she doesn’t have this problem during naps or sleeps. It mostly happens after quite times if a noise -loud or not- appears.

Btw, she has always been very sensitive to loud noises like food processor, hand mixer, motorbikes etc.. and used to get scared and cry when she was younger. She handles them much better now however you can still tell she gets anxious around those kind of sounds.

Also our home is very quiet in general, it is just two of us during the day, and my husband at nights. No family living close so not too many visitors. But I take her out a lot and she is very social.

Does anyone have a similar issue? Should I be worried?
