Spinal headache anxiety

Lisa

I just delivered my baby (yay, about time!) and of course I had an epidural. I’m going to be sterilized afterwards and they’d have to give me a spinal block anyway, so may as well do it before and have a more painless labor.

I have pretty bad anxiety and knew coming in that a spinal headache was a possibility. But now that I’ve delivered, every head twinge feels like it’s the start of it. My head does hurt, but I’m prone to headaches anyway and I was clenching my teeth awfully hard before the epidural kicked in. Only about 1% of women who get epidurals will get the headache, so it’s far more likely I’ll be fine, but of course I still worry. Sigh.
