Pregnancy depression in high school
I’m a senior in high school, 21 weeks pregnant and I’m really worried about my grades because on my mental health. I haven’t really been depressed in the last 5 years but now I struggle to leave the house, talk to people outside my immediate family, and have constant anxiety. My doctor prescribed Zoloft, but I’m not sure what to do about school. Is anyone else having this problem?
I have a lot of support at school and at home, so that’s not the issue. This pregnancy was unplanned but I’m so excited to be a mom, so that isn’t the problem either.
I do have trust issues with my boyfriend (not cheating but just decision making and behavior wise), since I’ve been pregnant he hasn’t been treating me well, lost his license, quit his job, and refuses to bond or interact with the baby (still in my tummy, but like he won’t read to him Or get any baby things from the store to prepare.) So I think that is a big stressor for me considering he’s the father of my son! But I can’t just blame it all on him because that’s not fair.
I’m not sure what to do. I need to graduate.
