Ultrasound closer to due date??

FTM here... do you get an ultrasound closer to your due date? I’m 24w now but I feel like I always see people getting ultrasounds around 37/38 weeks and it’s from the doctors office

I had one right at the beginning - 7 weeks for viability, one at 13 weeks, anatomy scan at 19 weeks and when I go back to my OB’s on Monday (monthly visits) she will be giving me a requisition for another ultrasound. There aren’t any real concerns, but I was labeled ‘geriatric’ since I’m 35 lol so maybe that’s why it’s more often?

I’m getting another at 32 weeks because of a low lying placenta. My ob wants to make sure it moves up or I might need a c section.

I get them every 2-3 weeks since my anatomy scan until birth, but I'm high risk because of blood pressure and my boyfriend having Spina Bifida. I think it varies from clinic to clinic for healthy pregnancies that aren't high risk. Some friends got one around 32 weeks and some didn't have any after the anatomy scan.

I won’t be getting another unless they are concerned with growth or whatever. With my first I had an ultrasound scheduled for 40+1 lol but that’s the day I have birth so 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

Depends on the doctor! I have another scan scheduled for 32 weeks. If they need to check position, etc. She may do one closer to my due date.

I had one around 32w with my first because they saw an issue with how the umbilical cord was inserted into the placenta at 20 week scan, and they wanted to check his growth. Otherwise, unless there is an issur, my office doesn't do a scan after 20w

I had one at 20 weeks and my doctor said that will be my only one unless they have any concerns on sizing, etc.

Only got one with my first that late bc I was overdue. Don’t think it’s common practice unless there’s a medical reason.

With my practice, you don’t get one after your anatomy scan until you’re overdue or they suspect an issue
