So I am pregnant with my fifth child and was super nervous to tell people especially my family. I told close friends first but until yesterday hadn’t told my family. It was always met with negativity which had a lot to do with my personal circumstances and choices that I had made at a young age.

Now I’ve come a long way since my surprise first pregnancy at the of age 17. I eventually married and divorced the father of my four beautiful children. Two years later I would meet my current wonderful loving husband. I thought I was done with having anymore children but after much prayer and reflection I decided to have one more.

I wanted my announcement to be like this and I wanted to announce it to my family this way. Surprisingly my family took it as good news. It was such a relief and I finally got to experience the joy of having people that I love taking my pregnancy announcement as a celebration.

It’s also nice to see how far I’ve come from where I started out. It was difficult at times but so worth it to get to where I am today.

Before I get comments about my family. My family would take it hard at first but would eventually come around. As I stated I was young and wasn’t in the best place to have kids when I had my first. I have a close relationship with both my parents and grandparents. They have been my children and I biggest supporters. They have always been there when I’ve needed them most. I am so grateful to them and the relationships we have formed in spite of past difficulties.
