Urine Protein-Creatinine Ratio?

Hi everyone. Any input appreciate. I am currently 9w4d pregnant with my second child. I had class I HELLP with my first, delivering via C/Section at 35w3d, under general anesthesia (platelets were 71K, so they couldn’t do an epidural/spinal like normal C-Section).. anyway, I did see a MFM MD for preconception counseling prior to this pregnancy and she mentioned for a 24 hour urine for my baseline to be done in my first trimester. I brought this up to my Regular OBGYN last week at my appt and he said they really only do spot-checks of urine Protein-creatinine ratio at this point and do not routinely do 24 hour urine collections. He said the spot-check urine protein-creatinine ratio is just as sensitive and If there is any discrepancy or question, he would then do a 24 hour urine for verification. Have any of you ever experienced this with severe preeclampsia/HELLP syndrome and subsequent pregnancies?
