Do you need to use the same middle name to be considered a Jr.?

So... if my baby is a boy I want to name them after my husband, but I don’t want to use his same middle name. In Spanish his middle name is Christopher, but with the way it’s spelt any English speaking person sees and hears it as crystal-ball. And so I would like to use my husbands first name and then use my dads name as the middle name, but would doing so make my child not a true Jr.?

Yes you do. Both my papaw & uncle have the same first names but different middle names & I asked my papaw if you & uncle have the same names then how come we don't call him Jr? Unless you have to have the same middle name too & he said yes you do.

I don’t think so I believe it has to be same full first middle and last name to be a jr. my son is a jr and has my husbands full name.

Your baby will still be a Jr. You have your dads blood in you, and so does your baby. Either way your baby having your dads middle name would still make him a Jr.
