Tampon pain??

Does anyone else experience pain when wearing tampons? I never wore them for this purpose but recently have been getting rashes from pads. Honestly the minute it goes in, I'm in horrible pain. I was told in the past my uterus is slightly tilted, I'm wondering if this may be why.

To save from some silly comments, I'm 26 and have had my period since I was 9, so the insertion process or the chance that I have been doing it incorrectly is not the issue here.
