What would you do if your significant other accidentally destroyed your clothes in the washer or dryer?

Graham Lent me his favorite Jersey.  To be nice, I washed it for him and sadly with hot water and high heat which shrunk it.
I kind of want to see what responses are before I tell you what actually happened as a result of it.

If you're considering breaking up over a silly accident like that, you're not ready for a relationship hun. That's ridiculously immature.

His response to me simply was "what did you learn as a result of this" ?
I told him "I either need to read the directions and follow them or ask somebody how to wash and dry them. I will pay you back Graham." 
  He then says "what you did was an accident it's just a Jersey and no you don't have to replace it. I'm pretty sure you'll do as you just said baby."
