How do i make friends as an adult

Im 23 and have 1 friend that lives far away. Ive made friends before but they never last(yes, i am putting in effort they just seem to ghost me idk why 😞) how as an adult supposed to make friends? All the people i work with are either barely 18 or my moms age. I cant find things in common. And im sick and tired of my bf trying to help me make friends. He makes me feel like a kid having mommy or daddy make play dates. I hate it and cant get him to stop. I was never good at this even as a kid. And it seems every app is a hidded dtf one. I just want friends 😫 why doesnt anyone wanna hangout with me 😥
