I've been in preterm labor since I went to the hospital at 34w&3days. I was 3 cm dilated at the hospital and baby high up and not effaced. I had my doctors appointment last Thursday and she checked me and I'm now 3 1/2 to 4 cm dilated, baby still high up and not effaced. She called my preterm labor "odd" because I'm dilating on the outside cervix and not the inside and the baby is still high up. I was wondering what the inner cervix dilation was? Is it effacing?

She also told me my uterus is measuring 37 1/2 weeks. I had a ultrasound when I was in the hospital at 34w&4days and she told me the baby was measuring a week ahead, my amniotic fluid is normal. I also have contractions everyday, I've felt the lightening pains since about 30 weeks but since she hasn't dropped, i don't know what could be causing this. Anyone else experienced this type of preterm labor before? I know it doesn't mean the baby will be born soon but did anyone else deliver early with this type of experience before? Any advice would be helpful also to help the baby drop 😊

Also lost mucus plug last week but stopped a couple of days ago!
