Fluoride or no fluoride ? Toothpaste or no toothpaste?

I got different recommendations from my pediatric dentist and my pediatrician 😳
My LO hates brushing and flossing anyways 😒

Our doctor says time for a fluoride and we should have be using real toothpaste since day 1 of a tooth sprouting.
Our dentist says absolutely no toothpaste, it doesn't do any good at this age and she'll just swallow all of it anyway. Only really need to wipe the teeth off, even with a cloth, even if it's after she falls asleep is fine. Since there's fluoride in our water, no fluoride treatments until she's 3-4 and can actively spit it out instead of swallowing it.
Honestly, I love them both, I trust them both... But when one studied a little bit of everything and one specialized in teeth... I'm personally going with the dentist's advice here.
Just a judgement call based on your own kid's needs. All kids have different teeth, some teeth need extra care than others. I don't think there's a wrong choice here until one or the other notices something that needs that extra care.

Toothpaste with fluoride is what the ped. Recommended. My LO had started to get staining with the non fluoride paste and they went away as soon as we switched. We use the tiniest smear of it.

I use toothpaste with fluoride, the smallest amount on one of the 360 toothbrushes. We brush in front of the mirror and my son loves it!

Toothpaste without fluoride unless little one has a cavity. If there's a cavity you might want to reconsider the fluoride.
