Friends with benefits

So my boyfriend of 2 years and I just broke up a few nights ago. I relationship hasn’t been the same for the past year he’s been treating me like a friend and vis versa, we were very comfortable w each other. He’s been calling me every day (which I found wierd) and so I told him today to stop toying with my emotions bc i still loved him. He told me he still loved me but we both agreed that we shouldn’t date again. He asked if being friends w benefits would be a good idea but idk anymore, i said yes bc we were kinda already like friends who had sex so idk, what do y’all think? Should I just go for it, or what?
