What do flutters feel like?

I’m 17 weeks and have noticed I feel these little twinges in my gut. Almost like a brief sharp little pain. This is my first so I’m not sure what to expect. I guess I just wasn’t expecting it to be such a sharp feeling. Or is this something else? 
What does it feel like for you?

The first movements for me kinda feel like water ripples if that makes sense? Like super light movement inside.

To me, it felt like a butterfly flapping around inside. Almost like a quick tickle.

I told all my friends is was like a goldfish swimming in my tummy. Then popcorn. None of which you could actually picture 😂
It’s all amazing and the bigger movements are incredible. You may miss the tiny movements when baby is bigger at 3am and dancing in your rib cage for the last two hours 😭

That doesn’t sound like your feeling movement to me. Baby movement isn’t painful. If your feeling anything at all yet it’ll be a little flutter or tickle. If this is your first child it will take a little longer to notice

Mine at 14-15 weeks feels like someone tapping on my belly. It's too low to be gas pains as it feels like it's in my pubic area

Thanks all for responding! I don’t think that what I have been experiencing is movement. Sounds more like I just have boring old indigestion or gas pains. Haha!! Not to worry, 17 weeks is still early and I know that.

Literally feels like someone poking you gently from the inside. At least that’s how it’s felt for me both pregnancies in the beginning or like a quick flick.

Kinda like gas lol 😂 that’s what the first movements  feel like. They get more distinct further along when baby gets bigger
