Why do they all answer differently

Question

My baby is in the NICU and is currently 36 weeks. We’ve been here 8 days and the only goal she has is to gain weight. Well one nurse practitioner says “you’ll be going home by the end of the week” another days “I would say you need 5-7 more days” the discharge manager told me to bring my car seat with me tomorrow “just in case”...... why do they do this!?!? Like, I wouldn’t get so upset if what they all said was consistent... but we go from one extreme to another 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

20 days in here and I've learned to not invest too much in the hope of leaving from day to day. Each day I meet improvements and set backs with the same level of reaction in an attempt to step off the rollercoaster of emotion. Though hope feels amazing the elevator drop of setbacks is much harder when I get my hopes up. I'm so sorry you're going through this.

They should not do that. I was only told the day before when they knew for sure. They even refused to answer that question until they were positive.

I had twins and I made the doctor discharge my second baby. He has NEC so he got out after my other baby, but then was only working on gaining weight and he was eating fine. I ordered a scale and told them we can work on feedings at home and consult with their pedi. I was over the NICU. I was over them telling me a few more day, just a few more days!
