Financial worries!

So I’m on maternity leave and our budget is really tight. Husband don’t contribute to formula, children’s clothes and I also pay for the food shop twice a month & we roughly spent £80 a week. With Mother’s Day approaching I am not expecting a Mother’s Day present but he is struggling to get something for his own mum. He has his car insurance to sort out, bills & don’t have money he never does. I have managed to get an extension to pay our mortgage and I’m meant to get paid on the 1st when it’s due question do I borrow money from our joint account then replace the money when I get paid & pay our mortgage to be able to help him ? I don’t know what to do but Mother’s Day seems to be really worrying him.

This past month, all the financial stress has been put on me, I’ve bought food top ups, fruit top ups, my daughters learning system & books as she’s behind in speech & in her language so bought these aids to help her but they were expensive. Treated my own mum for coffee & cake her Mother’s Day gift. I paid for our council tax twice, as last month my husband was on paternity leave from work and getting over £200 less for the week he was off so I asked if I could pay council tax twice the following month and not pay last month just to support my husband being off work as he didn’t save. Paying council tax twice this month did really hit me hard but none the less I’ve survived 😅.

Just feel like I’m trying to manage our finances in the best way possible
