IUD concerns

I got an IUD (mirena) at the end of September. My periods never stopped, but the past few have been SO long. Last month it was 10-11 days and this one is going on 7 but just not as heavy. I know there’s some adjustments in the first 6 months- but I wanted to see if anyone has experienced this, and if your period eventually stopped? My doctor said I can have a medicine that will make it slowly stop, but I’m not sure if I want to take it that far if this is normal. Opinions/experiences?? I just am so jealous of all these girls that tell me their period stopped after getting the IUD! 😂
