FTM - can I go into labor?

Question

Went for my 40 week check up yesterday. Not dilated and no effacement. Can I still go into labor soon?
I’m set to be induced in a week but I’d rather this baby come on it’s own...just wondering if there is any hope. 
Any advice?

40 weeks i was closed...40w6d i was 1cm. Been having irregular contractions for 2 days now. Csection monday if she doesnt come on her own. But hoping

Yep! I went into labor the day of my 40 week check. I was completely closed up until I went into labor.

Yep. I went into labor in my own with my first at 0 cm dilation. Still had a vaginal birth (but I did need pitocin after 16 hours to get me to actually dilate).
