Should you be having sex with brown spotting?

I am almost 6 weeks pregnant and have been having sex regularly however about a week ago I had brown spotting after having sex and have continued to have brown spotting on off since then, it is very minimal but still concerning as a ftm. I have not had sex since the spotting occurred. I have my first prenatal appointment in 3 days where I will discuss my concerns. I am wondering what your experiences are with light brown spotting. Did you have sex? Did you cut down on the sex? Did you completely stop? What were your doctor’s opinions? Did the spotting ever go away?
