With my first baby right off the bat I would let him suck on a binky & I would pump milk and put it in a bottle for him, and also let him eat from my breasts. Doing this made it extremely hard for him to latch; he got confused between the nipple of the pacifier, the nipple of the bottle (Tommee Tippee) and the nipple of my breast. (I’m not saying that any mothers who also do this are doing anything wrong, but personally it didn’t work for me and my baby).

With my second baby (due in 8 weeks) I plan to breastfeed again but this time around I want to wait a few weeks before I bottlefeed her and let her suck on pacifiers. But I don’t want to wait too long. I’m thinking 1-3 weeks? Did anybody else do this? How long did you wait?
