:-( it's been over 3 years since my husband died. I am 35 and celibate. I use to have a bullet bibrator, but felt convicted to get rid of it.

I’m sorry for your loss! If you felt conviction to get rid of it, that was for your good.
We shouldn’t focus so much on what is a sin & what isn’t. We should spend more time simply thinking “does what I’m doing/saying/thinking please God.”
It’s that simple. Therefore that conviction was His way of saying it doesn’t please Him. I believe everyone’s convictions are difference. As you walk with Christ, He will reveal those things & you should feel freedom. The freedom He died for you to have.

All I know is that whenever I pleasure myself, sexually, materially, or food wise, I always end up emptier than before knowing there is something inside me that I’m covering up with those. The more I fixed myself internally by studying the words of God, I naturally gave those up and my will to fight them is stronger than ever.

Yes, masturbation is a sin. Once you open one door to allow sin in spiritual death take action and satan entangles you deeper into his bondage. You need to pray and fast when the lust of your flesh flare up.

The way that I see it is that if self pleasure is taking away from a relationship it is dangerous. If your husband is in the kingdom with the Lord; and you are not ready to connect to another man in marriage and therefor sex; a little self-pleasure until you should ever meet another man to connect with is not harmful to anyone. If you are using pornography I think that is another issue. I am a firm believer that your relationship is with God and any judgment will be between you and him. We all have our own beliefs and our own interpretation of the Bible. I am so sorry for your loss. I pray you find comfort and peace. ❤️

First, sorry for your loss. Second, As a celibate woman myself, I have tried to convince myself that it’s ok to masturbate. But deep down I just know it is wrong. As a Christian, you have The indwelling Holy Spirit. He sees what you see, hears what you hear, He knows your thoughts, He feels what you feel. I stopped the act of masturbation all together not gonna lie, on my own it was be hard to try to stop, society will tell you its okay to masturbate, But honestly it is not. I prayed hard to stop the habit. I now just focus on Jesus. When I get those urges, I remember my Bible verses that I have memorized to help me in difficult times when I am tempted. My favorite is Phillipians 4:8 onwards.
