Ferning - opinions?
Here are day-by-day shots of my morning saliva under a microscope in the days leading up to ovulation. I took these pictures by holding my phone camera up to the lens.

Pictures 4 and 5 are from the same day. Picture 6 is what it looked like when my digital/urine test opk gave me a solid smiley face.
So obvs, you can see the changes - but here’s my question: I saw a fertility specialist today for the first time where we counted my eggs, and I showed her these pictures and asked if she thought ovulation ferning was an accurate way to predict ovulation - and she completely deadpanned me. She spent the entire time going, “oh interesting,” while looking at me as though I’d googled random symptoms online and expertly concluded that I had cancer. She totally dismissed the entire concept and had zero input, and basically looked at me like she was politely trying to pretend I hadn’t said anything about it. She didn’t even say, “saliva ferning is inaccurate,” or, “I don’t have an opinion on this,” or, “this topic hasn’t been sufficiently reviewed by the medical community.” She just acted like I hadn’t said anything.
Has anyone else had this experience?
A basic microscope cost like $60 on amazon, which is about the same amount as a big box of OPKs. If saliva ferning is an accurate ov predictor, is the fertility industry just pretending to be grossly unaware of this to keep women buying pee sticks?
Thoughts please!
