How to get toddlers feet in rain boots?

Ok I know this is a silly question but my 1.5 year olds feet will not slide into his rain boots! Is this just the boot? Or am I doing something wrong? They are the Joe Fresh brand. Thanks!

I had to get ones that zipped up the side. For the life of me I couldn't get his feet into the bend of regular ones without fear of hurting him even though they were definitely a little big for him.

When i had to get my daughter's feet in boots id have her lay on her back while i held the sides of the shoe and had her push her foot into it herself lol. It worked better than trying to force it in myself. Also thin socks help. Other than that im not really sure, there's been lots of times i just gave up 😂
