Are you using an infant car seat or a convertible car seat?

Trying to figure out if we should get an infant car seat or just go straight to the convertible kind? What do you guys think?

I have used only convertibles for 3 Babies now, and will do so again for these twins. I can't justify the cost of both, I hate lugging a seat on one side of you (I've done it for others' babies), and I love baby wearing. The babies fall right back asleep usually once I pop them in the carrier, especially in those early months. I rarely ever break out the stroller, even though I have one. 
Our convertibles hold the babies from 5 lbs on, and while newborns look super tiny in them, they are safe and secure and meet every carseat requirement.

I only used it for about 6 months, but I loved the convenience of an infant seat. I just got a basic graco one on clearance and then just saved it for the next baby since I got a more neutral one. And it's still not expired so I'll be using for this one, it still looks brand new. If my kids didnt grow so fast I wouldve used it longer

I was originally contemplating this because I’m super frugal... I figured a summer baby plus I plan on practicing baby wearing so I wasn’t sure I wanted to justify the expense. I used to work at Babies R Us for 7 years in their car seat dept and rarely was jumping to a convertible the best option for a family. It was usually if they absolutely couldn’t afford both. The convenience factor of an infant seat and not having to remove the Baby if they’re sleeping and you’re running into a store quick is so awesome. You can extend the use of them too by treating them like a convertible when they get too heavy to carry in the sense of leaving the entire seat in the car. With the height and weight restrictions on infant seats, a lot of people stop being able to carry them before the child actually outgrows the seat.

We will do both. Infant to start out and then convertible rear facing until she’s too big.

The stroller cane with the infant seat so we will use that plus like someone said, it’s easier to just take it off the base if ba y is sleeping

Definitely check with your hospital, mine won’t let you take baby home in a convertible seat, it has to be an infant seat.

I thought about just getting a convertible seat with my firstborn who was also a June baby, but the convenience of being able to load them into the car seat in the house and then to just take the seat with you if you were only going to be 5 mins in the store honestly can’t be beat. 
I also liked that it provided all the support necessary when walking with the stroller for the first couple of months. I didn’t feel like he was secure enough in our stroller even with the 5 point harness and head support.
