I love being a parent, even if she’s not mine. Lately I have found that my patience with her is running low because she’s 8 years old and she still talks like a baby. I have talked with her father about this and he agrees with me it needs to stop. We have told her to use her big girl voice, her 2nd grader voice and big girl words. We’ve explained to her that it’s hard to understand her when she talks like this because it’s not clear what’s she’s saying. She gets really quiet and upset because she’s being told to stop. Her mother’s side doesn’t do anything to discourage the baby talking. I want to continue to ignore it, but it’s starting to really bother me. I know I should keep my nose out of it because it’s not my place to say anything. Any advice?
