What is this?

I recently got on birth control and I haven’t gotten my period yet (it’s a week late). I just took the first pill in the row of the sugar/inactive pill. I’m on a combination pill and the doctor told me that’d it most likely get it late but I have this weird brown discharge. Idk if it’s normal or if anyone else has experienced this?

it’s basically old blood coming out from the last period or the last time you bled . you’re fine it’s just the start of your period :))

Depending on what pill you're on that could be your period, mine were always brown and light enough for a light pad/panty liner when I was on birth control. My doctor said it was from the uterine lining being thin
