When did you begin to dilate

Hey ladies,
Today I went to the Dr. at 35 weeks and they checked me for dilation which wasn’t near as bad as I thought. And they told me my cervix was still high and closed. This is my first baby and I’m just curious those of you that have had babies when did you begin to dilate? I really thought I would have her early but I’m beginning to think otherwise.

With my first I was only 1 cm dilated at 36 weeks when i was induced. Second I was like 4 cm at 35 weeks, and 5.5 almost 6 when I went to my induction at 37+1. Haven't been checked in this one yet, but I know I've been having contractions so we will see!

With my first I was 2cm at 37 weeks and he came 2 days before his due date. My mom was 3cm with me for 2-3 months. Some people hang out at 3cm for weeks and weeks, and some people go from 0-6 in a couple hours. Part of the reason why I turn down cervical checks at appointments—they don’t tell much of anything.

I think everyone is different but I'm honestly not sure it matters in terms of timing. With my first I was 4cm at 36 weeks and walked around like that until I was induced at 42 weeks. I guess he was comfy 🤷‍♀️

Some women can be dilated at a 4 for like a month and still not go into labour. Unfortunately there’s no real way of knowing, I’m sorry! I’m bummed about it too!

Depends on you. My First son I dilated at 33 weeks. My second 37 weeks. This one 31 weeks lol my first son didn't come till 37.6 weeks. Second son came at 38.2 weeks lol this one I'm waiting :) 😊

I was not diapered at all until literally the day I gave birth. I don’t know about this one yet. We haven’t checked.

I was at a 3 at my 40 week appointment with my first, and at a 1 with my second at 40 +3 and had my second 40+4. It definitely depends and it can go slow or very quick.
