When will you stop doing your child’s laundry? (Or when did you)

When I lived at home, I think I started helping with laundry when I was like 11. It’s not that my mom did my laundry or I did my own laundry, we had a communal laundry basket so whoever needed laundry done would do it for everyone

My kids are 8 and 4. I showed them how to separate colors, what temperature for which, the size of loads and how much soap. My 8 year old is in charge and the 4 year old helps carry and load. Then they both fold and put away their own clothes. Kids are capable, you just have to teach them.

My mom still won’t let us or our s/o’s do our own laundry when we go home to visit. No one else is allowed to touch the machine..

I don't have kids, but once I hit 12ish my mom would have me do laundry for the whole family. Same went for my brother. It was just a community thing. But if you didn't bring your laundry to the laundry room, it didn't get done. End of story. We weren't expected to go and hunt out all the dirty laundry. So if I didn't bring my laundry to where it needed to be, then sorry, you're wearing dirty clothes. I think I'll have about the same policy when I do have kids and they get old enough to know how to use the washing machine

My daughter is 10 and she gathers up get dirty laundry and takes it down stairs. I will start the washer and put them in. Then after washer is done she puts them in the dryer and then takes them out when done and folds them/ hang them and it them away.
