Period changes

Okay so ever since I first started getting my period i have had a regular cycle with cramps and a pretty steady flow for 6 days. Recently my last 2 periods have been extremely short and the blood looks like old blood and theres barely enough to even cover the tampon. The last one came 6 days early and I have not had any cramping. Has anyone had this happen before?
