Low Baby Weight?

Question

Yesterday at my 27 week appointment, my OB mentioned my little girl is in the 5th-10th percentile. 
Can anyone explain to me what that means? I forgot to ask her about it and googling it only made me worry.

They always told me my daughter measured super small and when she was born at 39w4d she was 6 pounds o the dot and continued to be measured in the 5th percentile until she was about 1 year old. You’re baby will just be on the smaller side but atleast that makes pushing easier for you 😁 my first was out within 3 pushes and only took about 3 minutes!

This means 90-95% of babies who are the exact same weeks gestation as yours, are measuring larger.  If doctor isn’t concerned, I wouldn’t be too worried either. Just means your little nugget is on the smaller side.

I am at almost 30 weeks.  I had an ultrasound done at 20 weeks and 25. My little lady is in the 18%. I have a follow up ultrasound at 32 weeks to determine if they want to deliver her at 36 weeks to help her gain weight outside the womb. As long as your doctor isn’t worried than I would not stress about it. It may be because I have ulcerative colitis and that’s why they are a bit worried.
