How often do you and your SO argue over money/spending/bills?

My fiance is horrible with his money. If he has money in his pocket he has to find some way to spend it and it drives me crazy! I love him and he is perfect in every single way except for when it comes to reckless spending. It has really been making me question our pending marriage as I dont want to live paycheck to paycheck while he blows through money. I put money away from tax return that he doesnt know about otherwise he would be looking to spend it 🤦‍♀️

As long as my S/O has paid his half of the bills I couldn't care how he spends the rest. We just bought a house because we both saved up 😊 he was in massive debt when I met him & now wr don't have a single debt (apart from our mortgage) 😀 xx

We've never fought about money. We're both the same way with money, so aside from asking the other about a large purchase, were on the same page and there isn't much to discuss

We don’t ever fight about not having enough money as we own our own business and do pretty well.... But we do fight occasionally about where money goes and why... When you make a good bit of money people alwaaaays have a reason to be borrowing it and we fight about that the most... Just wanted to add that if you think you only fight bc you don’t have enough money, you proooobably still will.

My ex and I had the same issues. He had no concept of saving money. It was one of the stressful things in our marriage. I'm so happy to not have to worry about that anymore.

I don't recall us actually ever having a fight over money. We've been together 8 years. We are generally see eye to eye, as far as money goes. We are both savers and we both tell each other when we spend money on something that isn't necessarily "needed." Extra things like say, something to decorate the house, or cologne, or kids toys.

me and my fiancé made a budget together, where we have a certain amount of money we each can spend on whatever we want during the week. for us its 50$ each, i can use that for fast food and anything else i want to buy. this might work for you guys since it doesn’t take away the freedom of buying things you want, but makes sure there’s always enough money in the bank for things that you need. every now and then we use the “bill money” for dates or special things, but its worked really well for us. you can always change the amount depending on how much you both make.

I'm a stay at home mom, so my husband brings home all the money, but I do the budget and all the bill paying, i try to sit down with him every pay so he can see where the money is going and how much we have left. We do argue occassionally, especially when I want to use some of the overtime money to pay down our debt. I think it is definitely important that you guys discuss finances and what's expected before marriage.
