Taking out menstrual cup

So I have the small size Lena cup. It’s my first period using it and I’m on day 2. Going into it I thought just he cup went up you and the stem stayed out. I didn’t realize the entire cup and stem went up you. I’m now not sure about this. I don’t like have to dig around yo there and get it out. Advice?!
