Fastest mile?

I’m a runner and I’m just curious :), my PR is 6:50 as a sophomore which isn’t amazing but I’m more of a 5k person but we’re getting there

I'm not a runner. My typical is like 16 mins! My absolute fastest thing was I think 7 mins??? But even in middle school my miles at full struggle were 15-17 mins... now when I'm working out a lot my miles are quicker...

When I did cross country back in high school it was mandatory we learned to run a mile under 7 minutes because we were competing with girls who could do it with no problems. Most girls on our team couldn’t just because one they lacked stamina and two they would just “blow out “ to quickly(run top speed then fall behind seconds later). I learned to run a mile under 7 minutes by starting out slow and then picking up momentum and also staying close behind the fastest girls on our team who’s strategy was to also start out slow and pick up momentum and keep that same momentum until they got close to the end line then speed up the momentum. I had never run a mile before cross country but needless to say I ran that mile like my life depended on it. Can I run a mile under 7 now? Hell no I’m too old for that shit 😂😂😂
