Is there still hope?

Question

I know everyone always says your not out until AF comes but I’m 19 days late. I had vvvvfl in the beginning but now I am just getting complete BFNs. I just got blood tests results back and it was less than 2. i even got tested for a hormone imbalance and those results where negative as well. My cervix feels soft and I have thin and whiteish cm. I have been using OPKs for about a week and half now and I am still not close to my peak. Is it even still possible that I could be pregnant? I am so heartbroken to find out that the blood test was negative too.

Also, you say you haven’t reached your peak opk yet, so I’m presuming you don’t think you’ve ovulated yet. If you ovulate later in your cycle your period will be later. So say you normally ovulate on day 14 of your cycle and your cycle is 28days, that means your luteal phase is 14 days( the time between ovulation and your period). Luteal phase is very consistent for each cycle give or take 1 or 2 days. Therefore if you didn’t ovulate until day 20 of your cycle then you wouldn’t expect your period on day 28, you would expect it on day 34 (14days after ovulation). Hope that makes sense.

I couldn’t post this under your comment. I wasn’t sure how long it can take for you to bleed if it was a chemical pregnancy so I had a search.  I suppose every one is different. Also, i have read that a chemical pregnancy can mess up your cycle in terms of when you ovulate again and how long it takes to get your period.

I’m really sorry, but hCG level of 2 means your not pregnant. Your body starts producing hCG from implantation. Implantation normally happens around day 6-12 post ovulation, so there is always a chance if you have conceived but the egg hasn’t implanted yet then you won’t be producing hCG yet. But then it wouldnt explain the previously vfl. You may have had a chemical pregnancy accounting for the positive tests initially and that would explain why your getting bfn and negative blood work.

I was in exactly same position- but got my period today :( why don’t you tell yourself you will have a week off any form of testing and then in a weeks time test again??
