Trigger shot!? help

my doctor called me today and we talked about how my second round of clomid was another failed month. He said to start my 3 round on Thursday and that he will schedule me to come in for a “trigger shot” he didn’t really go into detail since he wasn’t sure if he would be able to schedule me this month. i’ve google but i’m so confused.
Does anyone have any stories related to the trigger shot!? or if someone can tell me what it is!?

It aids your body in releasing the egg from a mature follicle, ideally. You will ovulate 12-36 hours after you trigger. I get them every month and now I have to administer them myself as were undergoing IUI. 
Diclosure: a trigger shot is an HCG shot. Therefore, you should not test for pregnancy until 14 days after you ovulate (so about 15-16 days after trigger). It can give you a false positive. Many test their trigger out by testing every morning after the shot so they know if they do have a positive test it's a true positive. It is demoralizing if you dont get it though so I advise against that....

Google ovidrel trigger shot. You’ll most likely get 250mcg of it. 
My boyfriend gave it to me in my butt cheek and 2 days later I ovulated. It wasn’t bad at all and I had no side effects. 
Just make sure you either wait until at least 12-14 days after to test. Second try with it I got pregnant :)
