Does anyone use baby powder?

I bought a bottle of it before my daughter was born and have yet to open it because I honestly don't know when to use it or if it's necessary at all?!

I wouldn’t use is. There were studies that showed that the powder, especially that extra powder that kinda goes into the air, was being inhaled by the babies and getting into their lungs. This can cause breathing troubles. I’d avoid it.

I bought the corn starch baby powder to use with my first and never ended up using it. But if I did I would use the corn starch version! And try to be careful of the dust, baby can breathe it in. 
I did use it under my boobs for my boob sweat though! So it didn’t go to waste 😂

Dont use it for baby, only time I used it was for soaking up the sweat out of my hair and for my point shoes. 
We dont close the diaper right away. Once we wipe we loosely keep the diaper on her to dry or you can use a dry washcloth to pat dry before closing up.

We used to apply baby powder after diaper changes since the wipes keep them wet and can cause diaper rash. So it was kind of standard to change, wipe, apply cream, then powder. But in recent years talc in baby powder has been related to asthma so many people don’t use it anymore.

We were told not to use it as it can cause respiratory issues. So I took back what we got from our baby shower. Plus I cannot stand the smell. I never saw the point in it anyway, as long as baby’s butt is dry and clean you should be good.

I don’t use it and honestly have no idea how to. LO has had a bad diaper rash and I used a little corn starch on it after blotting dry with a towel. Maybe baby powder is the same concept? 
I have used baby powder on my toddler after going to the beach to remove extra sand. Worked great for that!
