Name without a long time attachment?

Question

Anyone pick a name for their kid that they haven’t been attached to for a while, that just kind of popped in their head?
Growing up I always liked Julia (but I know too many now) Gemma and Rebecca (my doll’s name as a little kid). We now have a 21 month old Gemma and we’re having another girl. 
Suddenly, Rebecca doesn’t feel right and the name Lydia has been stuck in my head since the night we found out she was a girl. 
Scared that I’ll wind up regretting it though after so long loving the name Rebecca. Thoughts?

Growing up I was CONVINCED I was going to have 2 boys and name them Adam and Eli. Well, I have two boys now and neither are named that because I got the same feeling as you both times. I always just "felt" that their names were something else. I named them Luca and Fox. Nothing close to what I thought I wanted. Go with your heart momma, what about rebecca as a middle name? Lydia Rebecca is pretty💕

My mother KNEW I was a girl she would name Samantha. Now she didn't officially find out my sex or anything. But she had 2 boys and her pregnancy felt different with me. Anyways. I was Samantha Louis. Flat out, no doubt. Until I was handed to her. Then I was immediately Christina Diane. And here I am. When you meet your baby you'll know.

I had two names that I have loved ever since I was about 18 years old. Then I met my husband and it turns out my MIL has them as her first and middle names so yeah, that's not going to happen. Maybe as a middle name, but I don't want to name my child after her at this time.

I always wanted to name boys Henry and Jacob. We’ll I have 3 friends and a cousin with a Henry and a friend with a Jacob. With both my boys I just felt like their names were right when I heard them, took some convincing for my hubby. We have a Wyatt John and we are expecting Everett Michael, so we’ll see if the name fits when he is born.

I mean, Julia is a pretty good name. 😂 
But besides that, we had multiple names picked out (team green) and it took just looking at our babies face and instantly we knew what we were going to name her and that name was not on our list. It just fit her so perfectly.

I had a name I loved and I wanted to name my future daughter that. Met my husband and his cousin has the same name! Now we're such good friends, I could just not name my kid the same name. So now my future daughter will be named my husband's favorite name and her middle name after my mother and I'm not even pregnant yet, just dreaming, but when my husband said that name, it clicked and I forget every other name I had ever liked.

I was never one to be set on names, in fact I’m so indecisive I screwed my baby shower up because I decided to change my sons name at the last minute and invitations were already printed (whoops) we decided on Elliott, which I sometimes still second guess myself, but I really couldn’t imagine him being anything besides that. 
Sometimes you just know, other times you won’t. Just depends mama, regardless of what you choose I have full confidence that you won’t “regret” any decision you make. ☺️♥️

I have been planning my babies names forever and we used my two favorite girl names. Now we are expecting a third and my old favorites don't feel right. I had a dream about having a baby David (maybe thanks to Elmo) and it just feels right. I never once even thought about David either in a good or bad way. Now I love it!

I would say choose what feels right 💓 girls tend to have lists and lists of ideas and plans for the future. From times we were much more innocent and less realistic. Wedding ideas, cars, house decor, baby nurseries, names, etc. Most things never end up panning out the way our 16 year old selfs envision it. I've had a list of baby names since I was in middle school and they've changed a lot over the years. Usually I'm convinced on a name, 100% gonna use it because I think I've heard every single name there is to hear and then you hear a new one and it clicks with you. & Me being the type of person I am, I would be 100% set on a name and choose a completely new one the day the baby is born. And that's okay 💓
