Organic Crib Mattress?!

Overwhelmed by mattress options! Are you getting an organic mattress? Any recommendations in general? Does it help to get a regular mattress and use organic cover?

We got this one... I liked that there was no smell to it at all when we took it out of the plastic!!!

Personally I think organic is overkill. I saw a nice one on Nebraska furniture mart.com that I was going to et it's a 2in 1. From side for infants and a softer side for toddlers. If I were going to buy one that's what I would get. We ended up getting gifted a mattress.

Colgate Dual firmness - organic and green guard certification. My son has been on it for 18 months (since he was 8 weeks) and it still feels and looks brand new. Just ordered one for #2.

We had an organic mattress and cover for our first and are doing the same for this babe. Got it on Overstock, has a toddler side and an infant side (infant harder, toddler softer). My 3.5 year old is still sleeping on his mattress.

I'm paying more attention to greenguard certified than organic. We went with the newton. Its greenguard certified, 100% washable, and you can breathe through it.
While having organic sheets would help, the core of it would still be emitting chemicals.
