How early will you have your newborn out in public?

With my first I was just so freaked out by having a baby and not knowing how to handle her it took me almost a month before I took her in public - plus it was around the holidays and I didn’t want gross sick people touching my baby! 
This time around is middle of summer and I’d like to take him to work with me as soon as I feel well enough (my husband and I own our own business). I’ve heard of some ladies doing this as early as 3 weeks? 
What’s normal? What’s safe for the newborn?

I took my son out ASAP! I was so bored at home and figured as long as I kept him away from strangers we would be good! He's almost 2 and has only had one short cold! I think the outside world has helped to boost his immunity

My son was born in June and took him out the day after we got home from the hospital. Will do the same with this one in July. Just whatever someone is comfortable with no set time. Summer is nice bc most people aren’t sick and don’t have to worry about cold weather.

Something that I've realized is that even if I don't take baby out our 3yr old will bring the world and germs back with him. 😅 So maybe it doesn't matter? I don't know. I think I'll play it by ear. 
I was the same like you...first baby born in Dec and pediatrician said to keep him out of public. It was a bad flu season. 
Hoping the summer means less illness so we can go out and our three year old doesn't bring back all of the ickiness.

I'm not planning on taking her on public until shes had her shots so 8 weeks or so. If I need to get out of the house I'll take her for a walk around the neighborhood.

With my daughter she had to go see the doctor for a check up when she was three days old and the doctor was at the hospital and no one messed with her and she was fine 😊 but I didn’t take her to Walmart or anything like that for maybe 3 weeks

My last baby i took out when he was 2 days old. Nobody touched him because i didnt allow it. They will be fine.

This will be my first baby (due July 4), and I’m already paranoid just thinking about taking her out in public lol. I would like to expose her to the outside world early because my mom told me she didn’t do that with me and I have the weakest immune system ever. Haha. But she did it with my other 3 siblings and they’ve always been extra healthy. But I probably won’t take her anywhere where there’s tons of people yet, so no Disneyland or sporting events or anything like that lol. But definitely to visit my husband at his office, and to friends/family homes. Knowing me I’ll probably still be extra paranoid though and won’t take her out until she gets her first set of shots lol.

I tend to get really bad cabin fever. So I think by week 3 or 4 we will go to our favorite diner for breakfast. All the staff we know personally and wouldn’t touch her. Same with the locals. I think you just have to pick and choose. 
But also, if this is your 2nd kid you don’t want a toddler cooped up in the house and forced to behave without getting their wiggles out. So I’d cut it shorter. Granted if you have a baby during the peak of flu season I might choose a different option. 🤷🏻‍♀️ so many decisions to make!
